Make the Earth Richer

What each and every one of us does matters. How are you helping our quality of life? How are you making earth richer? The best way to know you are helping is to weigh your actions in terms of resources. There are five resource groups that no humans that ever were or ever will be can live without. Land - The Natural Resources- anything the earth gives us- Plants, animals, soil, water, air. In this age of so many people we can now say that we only have the natural resources that the people that went before us were smart enough to take care of and leave for us. What are we leaving for all the generations that come after us?

Labor - Our Present Labors- what each of us is doing.

Capital- The past results of labor that we now have to utilize: buildings, tools, transportation...it's the stuff, or capital or infrastructure. We only have the stuff that the people that went before us were smart enough to leave us. So what are we leaving that is useful for future generations? We have entered an age where we can no longer afford the manufacturing of bad products- those products that in their use exhaust the resources we need to live.

Time- The time of our own lifetimes and the time it takes to grow things, food or trees or infrastucture.

Knowledge- Specifically the knowledge of how we use the land, labor, capital and time to do whatever it is we need done for quality of life.

We all want quality lives. We need these resources. We need to make sure these resources are there for the future of all of us.

The best definition of a quality life is knowing that you helped. Be responsible. Make it a better world. Pay attention and act on what adds, and doesn't subtract, from the resources we need to live.
