The Five Resource Groups

Knowledge The fifth resource group is knowledge- specifically the knowledge of how to use the land, labor, capital and time to do whatever it is that humans need done for the quality of life.

By definition, the first four categories of resources are limited. Knowledge is the multiplier- doing more with less is a great philosophy of life. Applying reliable knowledge is the only way to increase what we can get from our land, our labor, our capital and our time. Only by applying knowledge can we provide a quality existence for all.

There is great news: We have more knowledge than ever before. We can reliably know what labors will help us, and make the informed choices so the products we commit our resources to making are products that will give us sustainable lives.

There is bad news: We are not applying that knowledge. And if we don’t, our fate is going to be like so many other past societies, we will collapse. We are also not educating everyone so they can be sure to have quality lives by being able to sustainably meet their needs while making earth richer.

We have to apply knowledge to maximize our resources. Let’s Do That!

Knowledge means education. No one can live well without education. We need schools for everyone- no exceptions.

Science and Knowledge- Science is the process by which we acquire reliable knowledge about our world. All of us need science. How else do we know how to feed ourselves? How else do we know where best to put our labors? How else do we know which capital is the most important capital to make? We need reliable knowledge, and then we must act on that knowledge. Ignoring scientific knowledge only makes earth poorer. Make Earth Richer- Educate each other and act to the best of your knowledge.
